I realize from some of my previous questions that I was right all along and it is time to move on from my current girlfriend, I realize this may be a dumb question, but how do you just deal with it, any suggestions? I hate her but still think about her constantly, what is wrong with me?, anyone else ever been here?, How do deal with it other than having sex with all the girls I meet right now, that is not making me feel any better.

First off, stop screwing every easy girl that is willing to go at it with you. You will just regret it later. There is nothing you can do to just get over it. You are going to be miserable, you might even cry. I say wallow a while. Take a day, lay in bed in comfy pj's, watch a sad movie, and listen to music that makes you depressed. Eventually, you will spend less and less time thinking of her. If she was that special, you will never totally forget her, but you won't remember with such heartache and pain. And in the end, you will find someone else that makes you happier than you ever dreamed she could. And yes, I've been there. It sucked and I cried for months. I never thought I would be okay, but here I am 7 years later and functioning like a fairly normal human being.

I can speak from experience. Sex with other people won't change things or wash away your feelings. It will only dilute your sense of what is meaningful in life and push you further away from who you really are. Sex with love is the thing that matters most; sex without love is a routine that although enjoyable short-term provides no long-term sense of connectedness or value.

Just be patient. In time you will rationalise out that while you miss some things about her, the greater elements of the relationship that were missing outweighed any long-term benefits for both of you.

Love is dangerous. It can help create the Taj Mahal or it can decay every ounce of who you are. It's worth the risk however.

The best way to get over a relationship is to get involved so that you have less time to feel sorry for yourself. Make new friends and join some clubs. Start dating but don't get serious about anyone until you're sure. It takes time to get to know someone well. Take your time. And by the way, it will make the old GF jealous when she sees you out there enjoying yourself.

Let your ego go! It's not about you anymore for her. Just accept it. That's the only way you can move on.
