1. Stay awwwwaaay from those salons. It took me many years to learn that.
2. Trim or cut the damaged ends. They do not help us.
3. Mix in a food processor 1 avacado with 1 tbsp of 'olive oil' and 1 tbsp of 'soy milk'.
4. Place this mixture on as a pre-poo (before washing lightly) and add a good reconstructing conditioner.
This really works. I know because I just did this because I had problems with growth and was advised it's because I need to get rid of those weakened ends. They split up to the healthy hair, so make this your big chop.
Also, my hair looks healthier too. :-)
If you must, use a stylist just for this...but I warn and advise that you must not lead on that you will not be back soon because I've known people to sabotage or take advantage of the fact...know what I mean?
HTH
PS I just learned today too that ponytails worn too long can break off the hair...not giving that same area a rest.
I wish you the best!

You should cut off the bad ends and put olive oil on the rest .Wrap a wet hot towel around it and leave it on for 15-20 minutes then shampoo it out with a good quality gentle shampoo.Let it dry naturally. Don't use chemicals on it or blow dryers or curling irons whenever you can avoid it. Do this every time you wash your hair, about once a week untill it gets better. It will take awhile .It doesn't heal overnight. The damage didn't happen overnight. Before you put the olive oil on ,your hair should be dry, not wet.

Any deep penetrating conditioner at a Salon. At Regis, they can use the Regis brand where you sit under a dryer. I have bleached out my hair and recolored so many times, if it wasn't for that stuff I would be bald! If you want to do the home route, Sebastian makes this stuff called Potion 9. Not cheap but it does the job. Also Oatmeal and Honey conditioner and shampoo by Catwalk (TIGI Toni & Guy) is a good twice a weeker. If you want something to protect your hair daily, use Smooth and Shine by Catwalk, Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell or Ego Boost by Bed Head.

Pantene ProV Hot Oil capsules, or Neutrogena hair mask. anything that has "therapy" in the name, or instructs you to leave on for 10 minutes is good. Since you hair is very dry/damages, use more than once a week (try every other day). Getting your split ends cut off will also make you hair smoother.

i used olive oil to make my own treatment, slab loads of oil onto ut hair till the tips and massage ur scalp, kinda messy i know. then wrap ur (not tightly) with a hot towel. after that wash ur hair and use conditioner, spread even with a wide tooth comb. do this very often (i did it every time b4 i washed my hair) and ur hair will be back to normal and even promotes a healthy growth of hair. better yet, replace ur conditioner with treatment cream. i did this and i can say i cured my hair of all the frizzes and split ends etc. btw, let ur hair dry naturally, no harsh towel drying nor blow drying. remember to oil the end of ur hair :p

salon quality products. a good trim. if you are wavy or frizzy, try an anti-frizz serum to help tame the frizz and make split ends less noticeable. there IS NOT a product out there that fixes split ends, but many that help hide them. You may also check the ethnic haircare section for a polishing oil... very little to be applied to towel dried hair before styling/drying. i have hair down to my butt.. and this seems to work for me.

Another at home do it yourself is to use miracle whip. Massage it into your hair and let it sit for 30 - 45 minutes. It helps soften and put some oils back into your hair. If you feel frisky you can add an egg or two.
Good-Luck
