Does the bible say anywhere that god made gays and lesbians that way?

i have a friend that says he was born gay, but i dont believe that, i believe that society has influenced people to belieive that they are gay and that it is ok...if men were meant to be with men and women to be with women there would be no children on this earth, that is why man was meant to be with woman, and woman with man...society is a big influence for allowing them to act like that in public and allowing gay festivals and etc...

Nowhere in the Bible does it say God made gays and lesbians. However, I do believe they are born that way.

Think about this for a moment......why would anyone become gay? Look at the hatred and ridicule they would have to put up with all their life. Do you really think someone would make the conscious decision to live their life under a magnifying glass and hold themselves up for contempt and scorn????

Sorry but homosexuality isn't a choice.

The Bible does not specifically say that God made homosexuals. The Bible also does not say that penguins exist or that a woman can become impregnated through in vitro fertilization. There are a lot of things the Bible does not say. This does not mean that such things are false or nonexistent.

To clarify something: "if men were meant to be with men and women to be with women." No one claims that men were meant to be with men. People possess variety. For example, white people are not meant to be with white people. People fall in love with whites, blacks, Asians, Indians, etc. There is no such thing as "meant to be."

You are welcome to have this belief, but what supports this belief? I would say that society tries to influence the opposite. The 19th and 20th centuries have persecuted homosexuals relentlessly. Despite prominent violence against homosexuals, such as the assassination of George Moscone and the brutal slaying of Matthew Shepard, homosexuals still feel an attraction for people of their own gender.

If anything, I'd say that society has worked hard to influence people away from being gay. Only recently has homosexuality become more acceptable (or at least less reprehensible) in American society. Only recently has the American military ceased asking a recruit his sexuality. Only recently has the DSM ceased classifying homosexuality as a diagnosable mental illness. Society is learning that homosexuality is not really a choice. If it were, then it would have easily been phased out due to social constraints. People generally don't want to risk being beaten to death.

If you do believe that being gay is a choice, then see if it's true. Sit there and try to conjure the same feelings for a man as you do for a woman (assuming you're a straight male). Make yourself feel no attraction for females whatsoever and make yourself feel an attraction for males. If you can pull that off, then you can begin to have an argument that homosexuality is a choice. And even then, if you are a small percentage of people who can do that, then you most likely have an argument that you're a bisexual, as most people cannot do that.

You aren't really looking for an answer to this question. You are looking for people to back up your beliefs and opinions.

You really believe society is influencing people TO be gay? Where in hell do you live? That's not going on much here.

There are more than enough people procreating. You may not have noticed, considering you live in some strange place where they influence people to be gay, but in most places there are tens of thousands of children being raised by the state because so many people are making unwanted babies.

The human race is not in any danger of becoming extinct. Nobody wants straight people to be gay. Thats just a figment of your dellusional imagination...

The Bible does actually say that God makes some people gay. In Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

I know this was probably translated wrong or means something else but that clearly said that God caused it.

So there. God does make some people that way.

Just a side note: You are a terrible friend. You ask your friend why he's gay, when he tells you his honest feeling about the subject you accuse him of lying... just because it doesn't fit into your perfect little world I hope that friend dumped you. He deserves better friends.

Sweet heart, homosexuality is not a choice. Either you are or you aren't. Some people know they are but do not act on it because of views like yours. Here is the scoop. Science has actually found a gene that is carried by the mother that is present only in gays. Now if god created us then he created the gene right? as to it being in the bible hows this? Love thy neighbor. Not everyone would be gay either. Like I said either you are or aren't. Did you know that most marriages nowadays end befor they reach the 5 year mark? that is with man/woman marriages. Now if you look at how long some gay/lesbians have been together (upwards of 50 years have been reported) doesn't that show our love is stronger than those of hetero marriages.

Also, I am in a same sex marriage (wiccan handfasting) and have been with her for over 10 years. I was married to a man for 10 years and had my 2 children (both girls and both straight). He divorced me because he decided my friend was better. With my girl, I don't have to worry about her cheating, or lying we are completely open with each other and I have never been happier. Now if "god" wants us to be happy then who are you to prevent my happines, even the govmt gaurantees it "Persuit of happines". What I do in my own house does in no way effect you. Have you suffered because of what we do? I don't think so, however we suffer because of what you believe and think. Educate yourself and do some reading, Do not condemn that which you do not understand.

P.S That is one reason I am not Christian but wiccan, hypocricy runs rampant, and pagans are tolerant.

Ok, for those of you straight people answering this question, how do you KNOW that being gay is a choice? Have you ever been one? I know of some people who spend their whole lives miserable because they're gay but they believe it's a sin, so they continue to be depressed. For the record, I'm straight, and I don't know if homosexuality is a choice or not, but neither do any of you other heterosexuals on here.

The Bible says god created everything, so it would make sense that he made gay people too. And no, you do NOT choose to be gay. Why on earth would someone choose to be persecuted, shunned and made fun of the way that they are? They are born that way and they cannot help but be gay and nothing else. Polls and Scientific research have PROVEN that only 10% are born gay, the rest choose it, and those that go from hetrosexual to homsexual,do so most of the time in middle age.

God only created man and women. He told them to go fourth and multiply with each other. People are not born gay. Thier spirit has been effected by satan the great deceiver. if they were born that way, God wouldn't call it a sin. God is not a liar. It is clearly a choice. Sin is sin. Sleeping around with anyone you call a boyfriend or girlfriend (heterosexual sex outside of marriage)is also a sin. It's called adultery and fornication. That being said, I won't cast a stone at anyone that's gay. God can forgive all sin if we repent.
However, if they try to change the laws of my land, then I will speak up against them (marriage laws). If they want to teach it in schools, I will also speak against it.
