No. It's just an annoying popping sound that relieves stress. I have been married to my husband for 33yrs. and he constantly cracks his knuckles. The doctor told me that when the air hits the joints and causes them to pop. It can't cause arthritis.

I heard that somewhere and I believe it. I still crack my knuckles though...i just can't help it.

I asked my doctor this because I am always doing it and he said no. But if it bugs the people around you, then you might experience a different kind of pain. LOL
