Maybe being apart from you made him realize how much he cares about you.... give him another shot if you still feel the same.

No. If you guys couldn't communicate well enough to keep your relationship going the first time that's probably not gonna change. It'll just be another day/week/month/year wasted on a guy who isn't right for you. When you find someone worth your time, you'll know it without having to ask.

If you can deal with the fact that he's just scratching an itch, and that all this is to him is comfort, then go ahead and get back with him if this would be ok. If that is a problem for you, and you need respect or are needing him to make a commitment or be in love with you, then do not get back together with him. He's not serious.
