God said in the Bible that there are 7 things that He hates(more than others), have you read that in Psalms? Well it is a bit confusing, and sin is sin. But would you want drug addict or an alcoholic being the pastor at your local church? It the same diffrence. When you are a christian you must try your best to be like God. God hates sin. We still sin, but we are to ask forgiveness & repent(try not to do it again). Being a homosexual, drug addict, molestor, murderer, any of those things you are willingly consciously choosing to do those things. That is not trying to live right for God. So they should not take a Godly position for people to follow. & they sure shouldn't preach to any body else. God still loves them & wants them to repent, but would not have them to take position in any church

the same reason i cant be a thief and be a christian, use your brain, it will b hard to give up a lifestyle, but God tells us what is wrong. why just go about your sinful life like you dont have a care in the world and that God loves you in your gaylifestyle. Atleast give it your all to get away from it, God will do the rest
And as far as 'gay pastors' go? they of all ppl are supposed to set a good example. flaunting a sinful lifestyle is wrong ok im done now

they are not more sinful....but once you ask for forgiveness of the sin of Homosexuality..{ God says it is a sin }.....then you must forsake it.....you can not serve God and expect to continue to live in that lifestyle for God finds it very displeasing and calls it an abomination......as for the rest of your question you can become a memebr of a church as long as you are not living that lifestyle....but just as in some denominations that dont allow some to be ministers just because they have been divorced it is the same with those who have the tendency towards homosexuality...it is frowned upon because God looks at it as an abomination

Who said gay's can't be Christians? Of course they can be Christians. The good book is pretty specific about what it takes to be a Christian. "If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Christ is lord..." not even a mention of "no gays allowed". No one is perfect, we all have sin in our lives. The bible does teach that we shouldn't 'dwell' in our sins, we should strive to overcome our sin nature and live a more 'Christ like' life. God is concerned with our character and our heart. A gay person could accept Christ and attempt to live his life in a Christlike manner. That would mean acknowledging his sin and attempting to stop his sin action. The same would hold true for a gambling addict or a wife abuser or a person filled with pride.

Queers can be Christian...Anyone whos disagree's with that needs to back it up.
As far as being a leader in the church I know that the Apostle Paul said that they need to be the "Husband of one wife". Now Steve might call Dave his wife but that does not mean that he automatically makes the cut.
IF a brother is in Sin and refuses to change (upon many different attempts) Christians are told to get um out of the church (greatly paraphrased scripture). How can we be accountable one with another if we allow our brothers to sin?

Who says you can't be gay and be a Christian? Almost everyone lies, so almost every Christian is a liar. If a liar can be a Christian, then I believe it is ok for a gay person to be a Christian. You don't have to join a church to be a Christian. you only have to accept Jesus into your heart and allow Him to minister to your needs.

Because they are sinning on purpose?
It doesn't make sense, but much about the religion does not. I like your questions a lot. Keep them coming, I look forward to reading the answers.

sin is sin.. there are no big sins or little sins. but you are missing the point. sin can be forgiven, IF you ask... then once you ask.. you have to repent (repent means to turn away from the sin you are confessing and never go back) once they turn away from their sin, there is no reason why they can't become active in church.
