I know, I'm going to get a lot of "Of course not. Jesus is my personal Savior...etc" answers. (which is fine)
What I am asking is, are there others out there who feel saying "I am Christian" leads others to conclude things about you that are not true?

Yes. Some people believe that when someone openly says they are a Christian, it means you are judgemental of those who aren't.

No, and I never feel weird telling people that I don't believe Eve ate an apple in the garden but was 'wholly seduced' by Satan and Cain was their offspring.
Open minded people, Christian or otherwise, are at first surprised, but many of them actually find that it makes sense once they do the research in the original language and don't rely soley on the translation into English.

If you just tell people that you are a Christian that does not seem bother them. People think you are a religious nut if you ask them a question about where their soul would go if they died. Even worst if you read them a verse of scripture then you become a Bible thump er. 2 Corinthians 4: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

No, they can think what ever they want.
I must say for those nasty boys that approch me I much rather say I believe in God and the Bible and leave them wondering than to tell them out right piss off.
Yesterday on e asked "you just came from church" with shock and awe... at least it can help them seek answers.
PS Jesus is EVERYONE's savior they just need to acknowledge it. I cant save anyone they have to ask their own questions.

No. Most everyone that knows me already knows it. I also wear a small cross, which seems to let people know in advance what I'm into.

yes, because many christians are like super evangelists and will go out of their way to bug the hell (litterally) out of non- christians
