Why is it that men that seek to 'put women in their place' hide behind the forbidden fruit story?

Because they twist the Word to suit their own ends...and with this being a patriartical society they had to make sure that men stayed in charge...how better to do that then through the Word of God...anyway before the fruit..."Gen 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them"...it shows that man and woman were both equal in God's eye since he created them that way. Also...Adam ate the fruit too ya know :)...but we all always seem to forget that...dang boobies...make us guys do anything......

How true. Some of us Christian men do seem to blame women for the forbidden fruit situation. But we are just as guilty. The only difference between Eve's sin and Adam's was time.

It's probably true that some men do, but they are misinformed. First of all, Eve didn't force Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. She ate and then offered it to him, and he took it willingly and ate it on his own.

Secondly, without a woman there would be no salvation - that is, the Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. Without her holiness, and her willingness to cooperate with God's will, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity - the Logos, or Word, of God - would never have become incarnate in the Person of the God-man Jesus Christ. The Mother of God is higher than all creation, including the angels in heaven, and is second only to her Son and God. This is the doctrine of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic (Eastern Orthodox) Church, and has been for 2,000 years. If you seek, you will find. True Christianity has no place for the deprecation of women. It is a woman who is the one and only Mother of God; it was a group of women (the Myrrh-bearing women, including Mary Magdalene and others) who were the Apostles to the Apostles! (The Orthodox Church considers them Equal-to-the-Apostles).
And as St. Paul says, in Christ there is no "Jew or Greek, male or female", etc.

The garden of eden story is also on the Sumerian tablets found in the late 1700s.... it seems this older version told of 'gods' that were in that area mining gold who enslaved the form of humans currently on earth. Eve was a male in this version, the snake a good guy trying to help humans escape this evil dictator, who also hated humans having sex because he wanted them slaving in the mines.

See how early writers of the bible twisted this story just a tad?

i admire your honesty and bravado in asking this question. As I easily have pronounced at here till now till you do have a faith, till you do believe in some thing previous this life, you are able to on no account particularly are conscious of it. i'm no longer asserting i seem down on human beings without faith, particularly the different in fact - I admire that decision. even with the incontrovertible fact that i think that faith will constantly exist by way of fact for a great form of human beings it quite is purely too depressing a nonetheless to think of that this life is all there is. If that grew to become into the case then one might desire to ask what's the element? To me, the problem it quite is extra significant than faith is having a good set of ethical - having a sparkling thought of what's right and incorrect. Killing, stealing, hurting, should not be justifiable, whether one is religious or no longer. possibly there have been cases whilst specific actual everyone seems to be hid at the back of faith, or used it as an excuse, even with the incontrovertible fact that the huge majority do no longer, and purely as non-religious human beings may be ethical or immoral, as a manner to can people who've a faith. one difficulty i visit declare even with the incontrovertible fact that, is that once I talk over with a Christian approximately their faith or life often, they constantly talk with a undeniable happiness and optimism that I easily have purely on no account seen in human beings. whether or no longer they may be naive or ignorant they are the main chuffed and content fabric human beings i know. whether God exists or no longer, surely it quite is the main extreme difficulty in life?

Cause they show that Eve is the weak one who was tempted and that women always will be weak so they need to follow the orders of men. Cause men are idiots.

If you look at what really happened woman was tricked but man decided to not follow God that is why we fell , then pride tried to explain it away. They both could have said sorry I made a mistake but they didn't and we don't either. we do what were not supose to do and explain it away and more farther away from God. Christ wants us to ask His forgiveness and restore the relationship with Him.

Only stupid people would do that.
And I'm pretty most animals... not only humans... feel pain while giving birth.
Please try not to generalize men. Smart, non-sexist men wouldn't say such a thing (unless it's a joke).

Because the bible and other religious texts were manipulated by early male religious leaders to promote their patriarchal agenda and to control the masses through fear-based living.
