Does Islam believe in "live and let live" or will they never stop trying to conquer the world?

Carc, my point was that Islam is a war religion, they fight "holy war". When does this stop. If the answer is "when they have conquered the world" then that would make them a mortal enemy wouldn't it? I believe in tolerance but I question if it is possible with Islam.

Not at all, the muslims are more intrested into driving the jews into the sea, and invading Israel, "their" Holy Land.
Israel is for the whole world, christians, jews, and muslims alike.

Why war, why can't we live in tranquility and peace?

It is quite apparent that some Islamic factions would Love nothing more then to kill all Christians, Jews, Hindu's, Buddhist, Wiccans, Pickles etc.
However not all are as interested in doing so.
Historically Muslims and Christians have been fighting for many centuries. Christians have killed as many, if not more Muslims. The be headings, slayings and such that you hear about are just a continuation of that fight.
Ultimately, regardless of how lovey dovey each side is with the other there will always be war while earth exists as it now does. Likewise, no matter how many love waves and hugs you give people will still hate each other. Each individual needs to live as peaceful as possible. This will minimize allot but it will not stop all of it from happening. Innocent people die every day.
Life kinna sucks like that huh?

I think many do, but there are probably others who don't really care much one way or the other. Islam, like Christianity, has more than one sect. Some are more militant. Some are less militant.

The Koran does teach universal conversion to Islam, but many feel the New Testament also teaches Christians to "make disciples of all the nations."

The degree to which we do this is a matter of interpretation. I think many Muslims do "live and let live," but that is their individual choice, not their teachings.

Um lets see here, who are the ones in Muslim countries killing Muslims? I don't see any muslims out trying to "conquer the world" as you put it. I'm sure you think that Muslim should not defend themselves against Jews and Christians right when they come to THEIR land? Do muslims come to your home and try to kill you? I didn't think so. Open your brain!

"There is no compulsion in religion".this was what i read.
but reaching to other people peacefully even with incentive i think is common in other religions too.so "live and let live" is normal.conquering the world-well as log as the world needs desperately yes as evangelists conquered Africa in reaching souls,i think this all are normal.

AFAIK, Christians and Jews are "people of the book" and are to be treated with respect, as their God is the same.

They (Christians and Jews) may not be perfect, but Muslims are commanded to be respectful of them. Good Muslims know this already.

15: And God said to Abraham, "As for Sar'ai your wife, you shall not call her name Sar'ai, but Sarah shall be her name.

16: I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her; I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her."

17: Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, "Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"

18: And Abraham said to God, "O that Ish'mael might live in thy sight!"

19: God said, "No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

20: As for Ish'mael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him and make him fruitful and multiply him exceedingly; he shall be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
