its safest, and easiest for your body to adjust to losing about 2 lbs a week. Its good you're walking a lot, and have a low calorie intake. Make sure your diet consits of lots of veggies and lean protien. Dense fibrous carbs are good, but not large quantities of them.

You should calculate how many calories you are buring with your level of physical activity. If you're buring more than you're consuming, you will definitely lose 2 lbs a week. Which would in turn be approx. 25 weeks or a little less than 6 months.

That may seem like a long time, but if you lose it slowly and safely, you will be more likely to keep it off!

Kudos to you on desiring to live healthier!!! Best Wishes!

A 1200 calorie a day diet is an ideal way to go. Typically you'll lose 2 lbs per week, any more than that is unhealthy. U may lose 3 -4 lbs per week due to your thyroid condition. You should reach your goal by the end of November. It'll be here before you know it and you'll look fabulous. In corporate some red meat into your diet, granted it's high in calories but you'll notice less hunger pains. Vary your diet and exercise (it's important to cut out white bread, eat whole grain wheat instead). Every now and then you can have a low calorie snack so that you don't feel deprived. A great exercise for toning your entire body is circuit training; a combination of cardio and weights. I prefer Step Aerobics Circuit DVD. I also do Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease. It's great and it tones your entire body. Good Luck and Stay Focused!!!

You have the most common type of Hypothyroidism. (Hypo) means not enough of the hormone is being produced. I have known some people to loose @1- 11/2 lbs per weeks and maintained the weight loss. So,you want to rid yourself of 50lbs. Four weeks in a month-4-6lbs per month. 50lbs/4=46 50/6-44
44-46weeks to loos 50 lbs Try to work these figures yourself them email me I want to see what you came up with.

Months to be safe. What you're after is consistency. It takes the body about 6-months to change the metabolism. Stay consistent and determined and you will hit that goal!! Good luck, its always good to see people GO for it.
