chase after a boy who she likes when she finds out that the boy likes another girl. I think the girl would cry and give up because she knows the boy may not come back.

it depends on the girl and how much she wants the guy. I don't know about the crying. I've seen women cry over a Kodak commercial and not cry once when they get their butt kicked in a bar fight.
