I PUT RED HI-LIGHTS ON DARK HAIR WITH LOTS BLONDE HI-LIGHTS AND IT TURNED PINK. I HAVE NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN AND AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN SCHOOL FOR MANY MANY YEARS.

You need a demi permanent shade, two shades darker than the color you want to achieve. You must also keep in mind to use color preserving shampoo and conditioner AND since it's red, and red is the hardest pigment to keep, a color sealant such as Heat Seal by Paul Mitchell OR Smooth and Shine by Catwalk.

Contact the manufacturer of the dye to see if they have a help line. Most companies do.

If not go to Walmart or any retail store and get the Loreal or Clairol (forgot which brand) dye remover. Its a white box with pinkish lines on it and some 70s looking women. It kind of strips the color down to a brownish red I've heard, at least something more realistic in terms of a hair color. If not visit your near by Sally's Beauty Supply or another knowledgeable beauty supply store and ask for advice.

Another solution would be to just dye the whole head a solid color of your choice.

Well, you could either dye it again or leave it like that. There's really not a lot of options now.
You should use a dark dye because it'll hide everything. Then wait a couple of days so it settles down and then apply new highlights on top of that. But decent ones, gurl!! You can't just go around highlighting your hair with lipstick and hoping it will look nice.
If you decide to just leave it like that and live with it, you could easily argue it's a fashion statement.

I would go to a salon...you don't want to cause more damage and plus you want it corrected........please seek a professional ...I know from experience ..you will only do more damage and spend more money trying to fix it yourself........
