The lotion put out by Avon called Skin so soft is good for repelling black flies as well as mosquitos and it has a nice soft scent too that even a guy might not mind. We also find using a bug light zapper helps keep them away and campfire smoke. Other than that, don't wear perfumes or other strong scented fragrances that may attract insects when you are going to be outside for a long period of time. ie bees love perfume and scented hairspray

I know from experience Avon has a Lotion product I used several years ago that worked,unbelievably well. It smells good and is soothing to the skin.

Tea tree oil is great. They hate the smell, and it is all natural. Rub some on, and you'll be good.

use dryer sheets for your dryer the smell keeps them away kust put one in you pocket for the day
