When you renew or get a driver's license outstanding warrants show up on the computer. You cannot get a license until you take care of the outstanding warrants.

In all reality, if you have Felony charges that have been entered on NCIC they will show up. If you have any minor infractions, those are not usally in the State Data System, unless they are directly involving your Drivers License, then you have a problem. Keep in mind that States share this DL info just for that reason. So if your DL is suspended in Florida, and you go to Mississippi and apply they will not issue a DL. You would have to clear Florida first. If Florida issued a warrant, well go figure.

No, it won't. DMV records don't contain information on warrants. In six years, I've never run a person's driver's license and obtained warrant information.

Warrants are maintained through each states' law enforcement telecommunications systems and nationally through the National Crime Information System.

Most police/deputies have lap tops in their cars. When they run your license number, everything about you pops up. They will see if you have any warrants and if so, will handcuff you and take you to jail.

If you do, try to resolve them quickly. If you get pulled over, do not compound the problem by running or getting into an altercation with the officer....most of them are nice people who would rather not do all the paper work associated with booking you, but have no choice. You are better of to cooperate.
