i want to start photo shopping my pictures...i'd be a beginner...what program is best for me?
nothing truly fancy or complicated,just want to play with some pictures...maybe put my brothers head on a donkey kinda thing...

IF YA WANT TO PLAY WITH YOUR FOTOS,THERE'S A FREE MORPHING PROGRAM CALLED 'SMARTMORPH' EASY TO USE AND FUN. ANOTHER FREE-B IS 'JIGSAW' CAN PUT YOU PHOTO INTO A PUZZLE WHICH CAN BE E-MAILED, SHARED, ETC. GOOGLE FOR DOWNLOAD SITES.

My pref is Paint shop Pro over Photo shop, though I use both (I like that I can import to my Palm from Photo shop), But can do lots more with Paint shop. Picasa is free and good for a beginner but not much for the pro work I do. I also have some "morph" software that imports in to Paint shop Pro quite well.

Adobe Creative Suite is best
use ACDSee 8 with that

Tough question. You can do really simple suff with Microsoft Paint - free and already included with your windows program.

Faststone Image viewer is easy to use and can be downloaded free from http://www.cnet.com/

MGI photosuite is also very easy to use.
