I have really bad dandruff (shoulder length, moderately thick, naturally red/copper hair), I've tried almost everything, and nothing works. The only thing that slightly relieves it is Head and Shoulders, and that doesn't actually cure the dandruff. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Neutragena T Gel works well. The dermatologist told me to leave it on for 5 mins before rinsing. If that doesn't work, you may need a prescription strength dandruff shampoo.

Head and shoulders is a very mild dandruff shampoo. Try something stronger like neutrogena T-gel, or nizoral AD.
There is no cure for dandruff.
(all of a sudden, my head itches.)

My stylist suggested 'Matrix essentials actrol' to me. It's about $10 a bottle but it lasts for a while and works. I haven't had a problem at all since I've used it so I don't mind throwing in the $10. Good luck.

yeah rinse your hair with lemmon juce undiluted then wash it with water and shampo , do this 1 time a week for 2 weeks . (during these 2 weeks dont straighten your hair or curl it or use moose). N.B if your hair makes any bad reaction from the first time dont do it again. dont leave lemon onyour hair without washing it it is very rare to have a -ve reaction to this recipe

Are you using the Head and Shoulders conditioner as well? Don't just use the shampoo. Try both! =)

FIRST CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT ECZEMA. SALLY'S SELLS A SCALP TREATMENT THAT CAN BE USED AFTER A GOOD SHAMPOO. I LIKE TEA TREE MYSELF, ALSO FOUND AT SALLY'S BEAUTY SUPPLY. AND RINSE EXTRA WELL BECAUSE THICK HAIR TAKES MORE RINSING AND RESIDUE FROM HAIR PRODUCTS CAN CAUSE FLAKING. ALSO USE A STRIPPING SHAMPOO PERIODICALLY TO REMOVE ANY BUILDUP. I FIND PRELL IS PROBABLY THE BEST STRIPPER OR DAWN DISH WASHING BELIEVE IT OR NOT. AND YES I AM A HAIRSTYLIST.

you might need moisture first and foremost. Try V05 the old tube of smelly oil. Not the hot oil.

Then see a doctor.
