What 'pet peeve' would you change:

I would get rid of the beret and go back to the patrol cap (maybe keep the beret for Class A's.

Get rid of the requirement that everybody sing the 'Army Song.' (Most soldiers could not carry a tune with a forklift.)

Move the rank insignia on the ACUs back to the collars (thus avoiding many 'sexual harrassmant' complaints caused by soldiers trying to see what her rank is.)

Ban completely the subdued version of the 1st Infantry Division patch.

Make the Stetson authorized headgear for any soldier performing a 'cavalry' mission.

Well those are my personal 'pet peeves' - what are yours?

I would go back to the army of old, back to a time when NCOs were allowed to take care of their soldiers.

I agree that the beret should be left to the Airborne, Rangers, etc.

I would require that all soldiers need to go to at least a 2 week course in infantry tactics and training like the marine corps does.

I would also require the entire army to learn the dogfaced soldier song in order to pay hommage to the greatness of the 3rd Infantry Division...lol.

I would require all soldiers to know as much about the Army as the marines know about their service by the time they have completed initial training.

I would make June 14th the most celebrated day of the year by requiring all units to conduct a pass and review, and then at the end of the ceremony there be about a cooler of beer per soldier.

I would make the max score on the run a 12:00 minute 2 mile rather than 13.

I would require a semi annuaul road march for all members of at least 15 miles at a 4 MPH pace. If you do not pass you get flagged until you complete it.

I would spend another week during Basic Training on strictly BRM and revise the rifle marksmanship qualification to include targets out to 400 meters.

Finally, I would require that all members do at least annually 30 days in the field so that all soldiers can actually be just that..soldiers.

13 F leads the way. Tip of the spear 3rd ID. Order of the spur, 3rd ACR.

Ban completely the subdued version of the 1st Infantry Division patch!

IT'S THE BIG RED ONE not the big black one! There's no utility for subdued patches anymore, we are not patrolling jungles or hiding in woods, I would get rid of all subdued patches for the regular army (SF, Delta, ODS excluded).

I don't care what the Military Heraldry says I wearing my Big Red One proudly!

My Biggest Pet Peeve I want to Change:

Power Point is no longer an authorized medium to brief, period. Butcher Block and to the point verbal briefing is the standard! No more insanely long PPT briefing, ever!

I have issues with the ACU uniform in general. I know that this wasn't a consideration when the Army decided to issue them, but it does get annoying as hell when some jackass strips your uniform and runs off with your patches. I think the Army should have adopted the Marine Corps DCUs, with sew-on patches and name tapes, and just kept the ACU pattern. I also would like to ditch the berets and go back to the patrol caps. Summers anywhere suck when you're wearing a wool blanket on your head.

Other than the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" which will help us in Recruiting...the gays want to serve, and the "real men" don't.

The biggest change I would implement is the most needed in the Army. Since there are only two MOS's in the Army, Tankers and those that support us, I would bring back the Tanker's Jacket to go with the Tanker's Boots and Nomex is the daily duty uniform for Tankers. Pilots wear them all the time, and they SUPPORT us.

If only a select handful of us can become 19K, then we should stand out in a crowd.

I would drive a tank around my yard while watering my flowers. And when my neighbors dog tried to drop a weapon of mass destruction in my grass I would run over him and have the driver and the gunner get out and toss him back in his own yard. I bet I wouldn't catch any grief from the guy next door. If I did I would blow is car up with a high velocity tank buster shell.

I would redesign the female Class A uniform. It is impossible to place everything on that darn uniform. I know female soldiers have curves, but there has got to be a way to make things better. My husband could put together his Class A in minutes, while I spent hours trying to get it right.

Wow, those are deep......:\ Um, I would probably change how the air force gets spoiled while all the other branchs have to live in **** hole areas. Make all branchs easier to rank.

Now for your side of the story:

Make the BDU's pink for girls and blue for boys.

lol

I would get rid of "Don't ask, don't tell." Everyone should be allowed to serve no matter what their orientation or personal opinions are.
