I always find it a little humorous when African Americans make a huge issue of it (for the record I am African American). The reason is because most people who fall under the category of African American are not exclusively black-African themselves. Most of us (myself included) are a mixture of west African, European, and Native American ancestry. If it wasn't for my ancestors "crossing the lines" I wouldn't be in existence, and most of the nay sayers wouldn't either, no matter their race.
I think it is more of a way of saying that a good numbers of African Americans, and Americans as a whole still have unresolved issues about race. But it is blinding and selfish. That is to say people who make a big deal over interracial dating are thinking about self, and projecting it out to others that they can see themselves in.
For instance it may not be so hard to find a Latino who objects to Latinos dating outside of their race, but probably could care less if an Asian and an African American date together, as he/she cannot see themself in the scenario.
A white person may not like the idea of a white person with a middle easterner, but probably would be indifferent to a Native American and a Samoan dating, for the same reason.

Are you going to marry outside your race? I hope you don't think I am a Racist for answering your question in this way, but say you date a guy of a different race and fall in love your children will be less black than you. And the same for the guy you married what ever race he may be. I think God created the different races because of the beauty each possesses why dilute it. I'm proud to be white and that's why I marr ied a white woman and we have white children. It would break my heart if my daughter married outside of her race but I would love her all the same. I have great friends in allot of different race some mixed I am not a racist. LOL

I think it shows ignorance for someone to down you if you choose to date someone of another race. I have a friend who married a White guy, and she is soooo stupid in love with this man, and he treats her like gold. I wish my husband treated me half as well. Anyway, when that movie "Something New" came out, I told her about it, said it could be about her. Since I have never dated anyone who wasn't Black, I was really ignorant, but after watching the movie and my friends, I've decided that love comes in all colors, and we should just enjoy it.

This question comes up a lot, and the answer is always the same. 90% say interracial dating is fine/great/sexy whatever. The other 10% say it's not a good idea.
I think black girls are incredibly pretty, but none will date me. Go figure.

Race shouldn't matter! It's the contents of their heart that should matter to you.
