I have the same kind of hair, slightly curly. It is a pain! If you use friz ease, from john frieda, you can get it really straight. Leave your hair soaking wet, just ring it out, dont towel dry. Put the frizz ease in your hair, and blow dry it straight, in sections. If you have a flat iron, that works wonders, once your hair is dry. Or if you want to go curly, put styling product in your hair, (gel or hairspray ) brush it through, and tossle it with your fingers. Blow dry it while scrunching it with your hands. Just squeeze it and blow dry, and wala! that slight curl will be really curly.

Is the color natural or from a applied color? If natural I will suggest that you have a mild body wave to redirect the size of your curls and body. You may even consider fully straigtening the hair.
You could cut if really short, or leave it long and try wrapping it while wet around your head til it dries. This is a well know process in the ethnics salons. If in Memphis you can call one of the Goulds stying salons, they staff the best and well trained licensed cosmetologists.

You need a CHI or any tourmaline or ceramic flat iron. If you use a curling iron, make sure it is one of those as well. You need a professional product. Frizz Ease is full of oil, which makes it harder to work with because you have to shampoo EVERY single day and if you have an oily scalp, will not work b/c humidity will curl your hair right back up. You need Flat Out by KMS or Sleek Look by Matrix. Regis makes a good flat iron spray but I can't remember the name of it. A Stylist could tell you.

you might want to try a pony tail in the middle of the back of your head with whisps curled on each side of your head. or pull what would be your bangs back making a bump in the middle of your head, pulling the rest back in a bun pony tail or updo. Hope this helps!

Have you tried straightening it? If you straighten then you can do many things with it have it down, wear it up, etc. If and when you do straighten it use an anti-frizz cream.
