I dont Believe that these so called contradictions Exist, yet many non believers seem to say they do as direct evidence as to why they dont believe in the Bible or God. So heres your chance. Give me some direct contradictions that exsist in the bible. Of corse there are going to be some that are different between the New testament and the old. But things did change a little when Jesus came to earth. These are not Contradictions but a changing of ways when Jesus died for our sins. So give me some examples of these contradictions you are so fond of referencing without really referencing.

wow didnt think id get this kind of response.. and so little space left to reply. I have not read one answer that answers my question... ill have to take a look at some of those links yet but the others can easily be explained away. camels? whatever adam and eve were alive hundreds of years, and it only mentions them as the first humans not the only ones. Turn the other cheek vs eye for an eye and other old vs new test stuff.. this isnt from the bible only an opinion of what may be, God saw that their needed to be a change with how we lived our lives so he gave us his son to die for us on the cross, there are no unforgivable sins anymore they were washed clean. runing out of room. ill go and visit those sites now but i have a feeling that they will all mention things that are taken out of context. or could mean one thing or another based on translation.. not a true contridiction..

oh my. just read the first couple of lines from the one site evilbible.com and it didnt take me long to see where it was going.. they put their own spin on the wars that David fought and fail to mention Gods reasons for wanting this done.... like i thought completely taken out of context. Spining the words of the bible to make their own sick point. my guess is that you visited this site and never even looked at the bible? you probably didnt even read the whole chapters that pertain to these events.. you just went at their word for it and the particular passages they pointed out give me a break

Eye for eye vs turn the other check-- The eye for an eye thingwas under the old testament. we are not under that law. The same way we make laws today and then change them because the needs of our society change, so did they.

The camel thing. thats not a contradiction. You may say that we lack evidence to prove that camels were used but there is not one part of the bible contradicting another.

Cain, Abel, and where did the other come from. The bible is not a day by day account. this part skips ahead and tells the signifacant parts. Seen from a historical perspective the other births are not crucial.

Blasphemy- I doubt that you done worse than Saul/Paul. So get to a good solid church and learn more about Christ

The trinity-Father/ Son /and Holy Ghost-- Okay lets say just for the sake of arguement that an all powerful God decided to take on two different physical forms. What would stop him? Remember he is all powerful. Would that second form not be God also? Now this God who is not limited by time, space or anything else is also not limited by his physical form. He is also able to be spirit as well. There you have it in a nutshell.

The genesis you may eat from any tree thing is pretty simple. the language may throw some off but there is no contradiction. God basically tells Adam you can eat from any tree but that one.

Skipping ahead a little
Because God changed a law does not mean that he made a mistake and therefore is not God. It simply means that the people were capable of following different laws at different times. At one time the best thing for them was one law and at another time it was better that they have a different law.

2 versions of creation man firstthen animals or animals first then man- - One way of telling a story is in chronological terms. that is you list things out exactly in the order in which they occured. but that is not the only way.You can also give a brief summary and then go back and tell thinngs by order of importance or by the way those things go together. Think of the way you describe your house. One person would start with one room and then go on to the next and so on. Another would Describe it as follows
First we did the foundation/ then we did the framing /then we did the electric. Point is both would be accurate.

John 6:44 and John 14:6 do not contradict either. Both are saying that the way to God is thru Jesus. But why would we be drawn to them. Because Jesus glorified God and God glorified Jesus so that we would be drawn to him.

People say the Bible says things that the bible does not say and then they point out their contradictions. For instance Adam and Eve must have had a substantial number of children, the Bible generally mentions a son or a few sons and then says and they went on to begat sons and daughters.

Secondly there are some apparent contradictions which are resolved once we understand the context closely. for instance David ate the show bread from the temple which was not lawful for him to eat, but it was a special circumstance when he was running to save his own life from Saul who was trying to kill him. Then Jesus clarifies that for us. This may not be the best example of an "apparent contradiction" but such are resolved. Another type may be when verse is speaking from a given perspective then we have to look at it from that perspective.

Thirdly there are lack of understandings of the nature of God and this is the source of many a speculation about Biblical contradictions.

There is an abundant wealth of information which is very interesting, such as the Hebrew words for "ballance" and "ear" are based on the same word, so medically it is believed that they understood the inner ear is the source of our ballance mechanism. The story of the Tower of bable could not refer to the making of brick because brick cracks, they must be geopolymers, see Davidovits "The Pyramids, and enigma solved" those blocks are concrete blocks. We read of the wisdom of solomon. There are many many examples of the outstanding knowledge of the Ancients. The word 'science' is mentioned in the New Testament. Ect...

Camels are mentioned several times as domesticated animals in Genesis and Exodus when they were not used in the area until hundreds of years later.
Adam & Eve were supposedly the first humans, and they only had three sons, but the two who survived found wives somewhere. Where exactly?
Cain is said to have gone to live among other people away from Adam & Eve. What other people?
In the second version of the Creation story (why are there two in the first place?), plants grew from the earth before the sun was placed in the heavens? Yeah, that's not possible.

So much for the perfect and holy word of gawd.

"These are not Contradictions but a changing of ways when Jesus died for our sins"

I disagree. The old testament and the new testament are both the word of God. If God has to change or eliminate his own rules then it means he made a mistake. If God made a mistake then he is not perfect. If he is not perfect, then he is not God.

Genesis 1:25-27
(Humans were created after the other animals.)

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image.... So God created man in his own image.

Genesis 2:18-19
(Humans were created before the other animals.)

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

There are literally hundreds of Biblical contradictions. Check out the links that talk about them. The first is a fairy amusing Easter Quiz that highlights all the biblical inconsistencies surrounding the resurrection of Jesus (a pretty important part of the Bible).

Also check out the second link which actually lists more inconsistencies than any other site I have seen.

The final link is just a well written site that talks about the delusion of Christianity.

FROM THE VERY BEGINNING:

Gen 2:7
16 Then Yahweh God gave the man this admonition, "You may eat indeed of all the trees in the garden.
17 Nevertheless of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat, for on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die."
3:1
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "No! You will not die!

22 Then Yahweh God said, "See, the man has become like one of us, with his knowledge of good and evil. He must not be allowed to stretch his hand out next and pick from the tree of life also, and eat some and live forever."

Of all the holy men that believed in the god, only the Samaritan stopped to offer assistance. It's a parable in the bible, yet Christians, even Roman Catholics and other Christian denominations and sects, tend to emphasize that a life without Christ would doom oneself to eternal damnation. I believe Samaritans were so-called pagans, for they do not believed in the god. Yet he was part of morality in the bible, the so-called book where the holy words of a god permeate.
And I agree, whatever answer you gleam here won't stand a chance in changing your mind.

There are many. Read the various birth stories and Easter stories.

So I say, who cares? This is not a reason for me or anyone else to not be a Christian. The Bible was written by flawed human beings to other flawed human beings.

The key question is: Does this flawed book of letters and stories and teachings bring you closer to God? If so, then continue reading it with an open heart, and allow it to challenge you to be a better person.

I, for one, will continue to read...

Since people weren't as one-minded back then as you are right now, they didn't have the same ideas when they were writing the bible, thus, contradictions do exist.

Here are some websites that give many direct bible contradictions:

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/jim_meritt/bible-contradictions.html#fool

http://www.evilbible.com/Biblical%20Contradictions.htm

http://www.islamway.com/english/images/library/contradictions.htm

Please understand that whether you think the bible is contradicting itself, it doesn't not question your faith--it questions the different ideas that were put into the bible. All books have mistakes in them, whether they are fictional or not.

no matter how many contradictions these words on a screen will give you i dont think you'll change your mind.

so i believe in the koran. it aint confusing. it all makes sense ;-)

and another thing, man changed the bible. how can it still be Gods word?
