here is what the police force uses to treat their dogs for fleas. They mix 2 cups shaving lotion with 5 tablespoons vegetable oil with 1/2 cup corn syrup. Lather up your dog and let soak for 10-20 minutes depending on the infestation, rinse and the fleas will be gone in a day or 2. For your yard evenly sprinkle 1 cup of iodized salt per 2 cubic feet of yard. This will treat the yard for up to 2 months.

Since fleas come in cycles...egg, larva, adult and breeder, there are a couple of things you can do.
#1 Talk to your vet...
#2 Buy some brewers yeast....check the label for doseage, but that tackles the inside. Most animals like the taste, so it is not hard to give. I always make a big fuss that they are getting a treat.
#3 For the Puppy's bedding use a cedar fill, yes as in the cedar chip from wood...or you can purchase some oil from a health food store...talk with the sales person. A few drops on the bedding should do the trick .
#4 Get the puppy used to baths, combing, brushing and using a flea comb get rid of them that way.
#5 If you don't mind a bit of chemicals...and you can find a product called "Safer's" flea shampoo in your area. It can be used on kittens and puppies as young as 6 weeks old...Best on the market that I have found.
#6 Make sure to vacuum the house well and then IMMEDIATELY take the bag/contents put into another plastic bag and throw away outside.
I hope that helps.

I think it's sand fleas down in Miami and those are hardest to get rid of. Ok, well to keep your girl's skin from drying out, use baby soap or shampoo. It's great for her skin and coat, and it's non-toxic to them. It has the added bonus of working just like an Ivory bath, just without taking the natural protective oils from her skin and fur. That should help with the fleas, too. As for worms, try a pinch (very small, mind you!) of tobacco flakes on her food. Should clear them right up. However, before doing so, PLEASE consult with a vet about homeopathic remedies for your pet.

Did u consult ur vet about advantage? Ur vet my also have a foam formula for young animals. I think I treated my kittens with it and they were 2 months old. Also you may use Orkin pest control spray. Its at walmart for 7.00 in a green bottle. Dont let ur puppy out till the next day. Stuff works great for ants, spiders, whatever else.
