That is a difficult question because it is all relative. How overweight? Obese? 500lbs? What other positives does this person have?

All things being equal, of course people would go for someone who is fit (and by fit I don't mean skeletorish) - but things are never equal, everyone has their +'s and -'s. I'd marry an overweight lady with a pretty face over a fit lady with an ugly face; Assuming equal faces, I'd go for an overweight lady with a better personality than a fit lady, etc. You can on and on...the idea is that weight is only one factor that influences initial attraction - but other variables are as important, if not more so.

Of course. Personality matters more than looks to me. I am in love with a guy who's like maybe 30 pounds or more overweight. In my eyes, he's perfect. I kinda like that he's big, because he's really strong too, because a lot of it is muscle. He's also the best guy I've ever met. He's sweet, but can be mean when provoked, he's really smart, funny, and he listens to me, he doesn't care what people say about him, like when they call him fat or something. He makes a joke about what they say.

You know its people like you that make life so hard to live when your fat! I weighed over 200 pounds in my 6th grade year know I'm a junior in high school and I lost over 60 pounds and was crowned homecoming queen my sophomore year. Unless I tell people they would never know that I was ever at any point in my life over weight so people say mean things about fat people right in front of me and one of my biggest fears comes true. Everything I thought and knew people were saying behind my back when I was fat was true!!!!!!!!! And to answer the question yes I would date and marry a fat person they are no different then a skinny person at least not to me!!!!!!!!! Their sometimes better then skinny people in many ways!!!!!!!!!

but it isnt a prerequisite. I judge by deeper things than looks so if he's skinny but really smart, deep, interesting...yeah I'll forgive him for not being the cuddly teddybear of my dreams... but I'd feed him real good and hope.
