last I checked divorces remain not a part of roman catholic doctrine...and yes, there are no rules for wearing white...and perhaps I am old fashioned, it just seems gauche?

When she married Tom Cruise, it was a Christian Scientist wedding. She was never married in the eyes of the Catholic Church- she was fornicating.

All she needed was a civil divorce....and to go to Confession...and she could be married in the Church.

And any bride can wear any color she wants. White means nothing.

The Catholic church is in big trouble these days over divorces. While the church kind of punishes the incompatible spouse by not allowing remarriage, I think in the long run this may be good for the community as a whole, for the human race...

Some people (those in the "wrong" marriage) have to be sacrificed for the good of the larger community... Time will tell who is right.

But to Catholics already divorced, as John Paul II says, do attend the Mass, persevere in prayer, contribute to works of charity, bring up the children in the Christian faith, cultivate the spirit and practice of penance and thus implore, day by day, God's grace. ... As the Church is a merciful mother.

Technically divorce is now accepted by that catholic church, but if we want to get down to the nitty gritty, it wasn't Nic who ended the marriage to Tom Cruise, it was his decision.
Many divorcees remarry in white these days. And as for being remarried in catholic church, well she has the money to make all sorts of things happen if she wants them to.

I think she and cruise had their marriage annulled. I think thats the only way to be able to re marry in the catholic church.

PS You dont have to be a virgin to wear white wedding gowns. I had "candelight" color for my gown.
