Bravo...I am a nurse and married to a EMT..we met while working at a hospital and he would bring patients in to me..I truly appreciate what you do..I like it when you bring the patients in nice and neat and bundled up..folks don't realize how many times you lay your life on the line caring for patients..they don't see you hanging upside down in a over turned car, managing an airway and providing C-spine precaution in the middle of a winter storm cutting yourself on the broken glass to save someones life..Those that don't appreciate you shouldn't be so quick to dial 911 for your help..let them take a shift ride with you and see what your day is like..they would get their eyes full..and further than this you are paid horribly and won't get rich being a EMT or Paramedic..but God Bless You..your reward will be in heaven because you public don't thank your enough on earth...I love you folks and support you 24/7...

You are so right! My husband and I are both EMT's and the show Saved is nothing like the real thing. People don't think about us unless they need us. We are trying every way in this world to turn our private owned service into a county service... anyway, I appreciate where you are coming from here. Anyway, thank you and all you do, I know the hard work and dedication it takes to be in EMS.

No matter in what profession you're in you can always find nasty people who doesn't know how to appreciate what you do for them. If I were you just ignore them as long as you know what you are doing. Perhaps those people who hated EMS has had a bad experience with them. Although you have undergone rigorous training to become an EMS but not all EMS show dedication to their profession. They're just there for the money. Just like in nursing unfortunately.

I appreciate the hours and hours spent by people like yourself in obtaining the education to become an EMS.
I have never had to use the services, but I am so glad you're there if the need arises.

Sorry about you being hated and I agree with the poster that said you all are way underpaid. I can't believe the places you all go to save people's lives.
Bravo!

I say you are damn right, and way underpaid for your training and qualifications. Not to mention you have to keep your mind sharp and clear, because you are not only driving in a hurry, but getting there to save someones life. I am thankful that people have the discipline to make something out of themselves that help a lot of people.... Thanks.......
