Lance was a jerk.
Don't get me wrong, as an athlete I loved him.
His bravado, determination, and need to demolish his opponents was breath-taking. But those same qualities also made him many enemies. Especially with those panty-wearing euro-weenies.

I like J1's answer a lot, but I also feel that there is some jealousy going around because of his history in the cycling world. If he won all those races cleanly - which I still feel he did- then he is a formidable challenger. If there is some "dirt in the background", now that raises some more questions. Either way, Lance Armstrong better watch out, because he's gotten the attention of many who are watching him with careful eyes and minds.

I think Lance Armstrong is a fantastic athlete. Becuase of all the role models now admitting to drug use, even the best people come under speculation. People just want something new to talk about, and why not target a world wide household name

I think mainly because of the whole sheryl thing. I personally look up to Lance as a Hero. Not because of the tour de france wins, but do to the fact that he even bet his cancer. Anyone who could beat the kind of cancer he had should be a hero, and if your able to get back on a bike and win the tour de France even more so!

THE FACT THAT HE HAD WON THE tOUR DE fRANCE SO MANY TIMES AND THE BASTARDS WHO THOUGHT HIS BLOODSTREAM HAS TRACES OF STEROIDS ----ha! Lance has a DIFFERENT LUNG CAPACITY ( as Xrayed by baffled cardiologists in France) so his athletic stamina and adrenaline have reached a NEW LEVEL that the other road bikers in the Tour de France need more than gels, power bars to catch him!
