My boyfriend and I will be together for one year on July 9th...but, we broke up a few times and one of them lasted a few days. Does our anniversary still count?

Your anniversary still counts.
Even when you were apart, you were together in your misery...that's why you reconciled. =^)

I think it can. Truth is, the drama in between is really a part of the relationship in the sense that it always brought the two of you back together. It may not have been conventional, but maybe the day should commemorate the history you have shared over the past year? I think without being married, anniversaries transcend all sorts of levels. And the first time you decide to be with someone is a big deal, including the stuff that happens in between.

An anniversary marks a milestone in your relationship: The day you started dating. That date will never change and if you took a few breaks then look at it in a positive way. Everyone needs space and time, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

absolutely yes! an anniversary is very special because it is a celebration of a specific day and time period so yes celebrate your special day and maybe even try to do something from that day a year ago!

Sure, as long as both of you didn't go out with anyone else. To celebrate, just get drunk, have sex and don't get pregnant so you can celebrate 2 years together next year.

Does it count to you?
Did you keep in contact durring your "break-ups"?
If you want it to count it does...if you don't well then....you get the idea....
its YOUR relationship - do whatever feels right.
