Completely halt all intake of food and liquid. Then sit in a sauna.

Seriously, I'm not a doctor or dietician or anything, but I think the best way to lose weight is to 1) exercise and 2) cut most of the CRAP out of your diet. As far as what you eat is concerned, focus more on the QUALITY of the food you eat than on the QUANTITY. A friend of mine went on a diet and allowed herself 1800 calories a day... the problem was that most of those calories came from Hostess products. (She's fatter than ever, by the way.) I never had a problem with weight in my 28 years until this past year, when one day I stepped on the scale and realized that I was about 20 lbs heavier than I was a few years previous. To counter this, I started a regimen of jogging and weight training. As far as my diet is concerned, all I did was restrict my intake of sugar...my greatest weakness. (I allow myself one "sweet" a day, whether it's a candy bar, a piece of cake, etc. believe me, this is a very significant reduction from the quantity of sugar I used to eat!).

The weight loss secret no one wants us to know:

EAT LESS & EXERCISE MORE

Because you can't make that into a diet book, or a special shake, or a weight loss pill, or an expensive piece of exercise equipment that you can sell in an infomercial.

don't eat at night, specifically don't eat about four hours before bedtime, stop drinking soda, and don't eat white bread or potatoes. I lost over five pounds just by cutting out the bread, potatoes, and soda.
