I assume she has terminal illness because she must be in a really bad shape to deny you sex for a long period of time. Otherwise, why would you ponder on dating services. My advice is if you are seriously considering dating others and noticing that your loyalty to her is dwindling, you may want to be honest with her (this is what someone did on another post with similar situation as yours) by asking for her permission or if you know she's in an extremely fragile state and do not want to hurt her but need to alleviate your sexual needs, don't tell her (but that is very unethical). Your last choice is to suck it up. I don't think there is a time frame as to when you should start dating. Prolonged illness in your spouse can put a strain on your sexual relationship. You will have to determine what you feel is a reasonable period of time.

I think that depends on a couple of things. Is she going to get better and do you want to end your marriage? If you want to end your marriage then go for it and join a dating service. If you don't want to end the marriage but your wife is terminal then join one too (although you'd be a despicable person I suspect you don't care). Under any other circumstances I think you'd better DIY for a while.
