I have a large trunk I would like to stow under my bed for lack of room, the bed set is rather old and the headboard has wide rectangular "legs". All I've been able to find is circular bed raisers. What can I use, other than stacks of books?

You might consider cutting a 4x4 post to the desired lengths. Then paint if necessary. An 8 foot post is around $6 at any home center. Quart of paint $8, Yahoo answers...priceless.
