Mane N Tail is pretty good but after time can dry out your hair because it is made for course hair for horses. Tea Tree Shampoo by Paul Mitchell is good and tingles your scalp to let you know how clean you can feel underneath that big mop. Sleek Look by Matrix is good, I do NOT recommend Pantene. It has wax in it that can cover your cuticle and is only a temporary fix to a permanent problem. Try a serum, like Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell or Gloss Drops by Paul Mitchell. Serum can lubricate the hair so it's easier to brush, comb and gets tangled less during the day.

Dove has a new shampoo out...it's like a therapy shampoo...its amazing...i have thin straight hair and i used to not use Dove because it made my hair oily and one night i was tellin my friend who has thick, long, drak hair about it and she said dove makes her hair oily too and i said well this one doesn't...and one day she was at my house and used it and she loved it...so i'm sure it can work for thick or thin hair...but it makes my hair feel so good after...good luck
p.s. i just read some other answers...do not use mane n tail...that is a thickening shampoo...

Garnier Fructis long and strong... although its for long hair it works great for thick hair... MY hair is in tip top conditon and I have thick hair as well. It also makes it easier to work w/ and everything

im not kidding. try horse shampoo..it will leave your hair soft and shiny. you can find it at any pharmacy

mane 'n tail. Works great. I bought it at Rite-Aid and found it at my local beauty supply store and also found it at Sav-ons.
