If it is your wedding, then anything you deem proper is fine!
You should have one white wine and one cheap champagne (save the good one for the toast). For beer, I recommend one light beer, and either an import like Heinekin or American Micro like Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada. No red wines since they get spilt, and the bride wears white.
For spirits, one good dark rum, and one good vodka will cover more than half of the drinks needed. People will adapt, quite nicely to what's available.
Is there a family favorite drink of either parents? If so, that should be the featured drink of the bar.
After that, plenty of ice, lemons, limes, orange juice, 7-up, coke, grapefruit juice and pineapple juice.
For the kids, it is good to have some maraschino cherries and juice to make Shirley Temples. One wedding I went to had those juice packets that were poured over frozen melons and pineapple. The juice in those packets is clear.

The basics are:
Rum ( Bacardi , Malibu or Captain Morgan )
Gin ( Tangueray or Seagram's extra dry )
Vodka ( Absolut or Smirnoff )
Tequila ( Cuervo gold or Conquisador )
Bourbon ( Jim Beam is a favorite )
Whiskey ( Jack Daniels and Seagram's 7 )
Scotch ( Dewars is the best blend )
Kahlua , Triple Sec and Peach Schnapps give you a well stocked bar.
Commonly requested drinks are :
Screwdriver ( Vodka and O.J. )
Highball ( Bourbon and Coke )
Cosmopolitan ( Vodka , Triple Sec and Cranberryjuice )
Scotch and Soda ( that's Clubsoda )
Kahlua and Cream ( Kahlua and Milk )
Fuzzy Navel ( Peachschnapps and O.J. )
Gin and Tonic
I would suggest you hire a Bartender that will be able to create many more drinks out of what you have available than the average person can come up with, that will take care of your "combination concern". as well

Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, Gin & Tequila for the alcohol.
Orange juice, pop (soda) - specifically Coke, Diet Coke, Tonic and Ginger Ale, and than bar mixes (lemon, lime, etc) for the mixers.
You might want to consider having 1 each of white wine and red wine for those people that don't drink hard liquor.
A couple of nice extras to have would be Amaretto, Baileys Irish Cream, and maybe Frangelico.

If I recall there is what is called a half bar which has the very basics and then there is a full bar which has everything to make any drink you want.
