You bet. It's a known and commona\ symptom of gingivitis. You should get a dental check up asap. Gingivitis without treatment can lead to further problems. Your dentist can help you to prevent it from becoming worse by teaching you proper hygiene.
Good luck

You likely have gum disease.

What is gum disease?

Gum disease is a bacterial infection of the tissues and bones that surround and support the teeth. It is also called periodontal disease.

Gingivitis is mild gum disease that only affects the gingiva, or gums, the tissue surrounding the teeth. Gum disease that progresses and spreads below the gum line to damage the tooth-supporting tissues and bone is called periodontitis.

Gingivitis causes red, swollen gums that bleed easily when brushed. Because gingivitis usually doesn't cause pain, many people don't get the treatment they need.
Periodontitis develops if gum disease progresses. The gums pull away from the teeth, leaving deep pockets where bacteria can grow and damage the bone that supports the teeth. Gums can also shrink back, or recede. This can make the teeth look longer. Teeth may become loose, fall out, or have to be removed.

you probably have developed gingivitis (beginning stage of gum disease)...

the bacteria from plaque and tartar in the gap between your gums and teeth have attacked the gums. if no action is taken, they will eventually attack the underlying bone too.

fix an appointment with the dentist. in the meantime, brush properly (brush at 45degree angle towards the gumline) for 5 minutes in morning & night and you could use an antibacterial mouthwash. floss once each day by gently brinigng the floss between the teeth AND gently slide it into the sides of the tooth (following the curve of the flesh). don't be afraid this is how u should do it! go back and forth and then back out, and repeat for ALL teeth u wanna keep ;) (that includes the molars!)

good luck and do floss!!

gum disease!
the only way of taking care of it is going to the dentist and getting
a deep cleaning and possibly if your pockets are more than 4mm
some antibiotics placed in the pockets.this is really serious your
teeth can start losing bone making your teeth mobile. then poof
your in dentures.
good luck and make your dental appt

I don't know your specifics, but you may not be brushing enough... you should brush at least 3 times a day.

If you are female, could you be pregnant?

Then there's always gingivitis. You already gotten some really good answers about that....
