You sure opened a can of worms! lol Money is power and it runs the world and if there wasn't The USA Goverernment running the BIG Show....which government that currently exists could do a better job or have the ability to run things better? Without immigration laws, it would be even worse than it already is. Who do you think should this country belong to? I think it was horrible how Native Americans were treated but that was then and this is now and we the peole have a voice better than ever before to make changes by getting out and vote!!!

I agree that the government needs to realise that once upon a time they immigrated here.
I disagree with people who say that immigrants are straining schools and lowering standards. No offence to "Americans" but most high-acheiving people I know are either immigrants or children of 1st generation immigrants.
You go to any suburbian high school graduation with an immigrant population. You will find more "immigrants" and their descendants, on the honor roll, than "Americans".
Immigrants are doing the jobs no1 else wants to do, thats just a fact you have to face. I'm not talking about jobs like fruit picking or gardening. I'm talking real jobs. For example, I live in New York, and work as a legal assistant in the Bronx. Inner-ctiy kids are tough to teach and no self-respecting, "American" teacher wants to teach Bronx kids. So the city of New York is hiring people from Asia and Africa to do the jobs. I cannot count how many green card applications from foreign teachers I have filed. See that? They're practically giving away visas for teachers who will come and teach the city kids.
It's like that in other fields too. I think Americans need to stop whining about immigration and get their society up to par. Immigrants aren't the problem, low American standards are.
Everyone is looking for a better life for themselves. If your country sucked you'd leave too. I know that Americans cannot ever ever imagine needing another country's help, but in this "global village" you might wanna realise that you need other countries too.

I can guarantee one thing, I bet the North American Indian would rather share their land with ANYONE but an illegal Mexican. The Indians are also very upset with what our government is doing on immigration. They took EVERYTHING possible from them and giving it to these illegal Mexicans. Everyone gets mad when you say Mexican but it is also known that they are mostly the ones who are here illegal.

We built the economy people are breaking into and we subsidize the schools and services illegal immigrants are straining to the point of failure. We definitely have a right to say how many, and also which ones, we want to allow.

noone is against LEGAL immigrants...it's the ILLEGAL immigrants that are causing the problems.
