The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohal, and sodas.
Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.
In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)
Practice portion control. Yes, you'll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won't have that feeling anymore.
Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)
Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition.
Good luck!!

I have fought weight all my life and none of the diet stuff works. You may lose but you will put it right back on. Like Oprah says she has enough money if there was a magic cure she would have bought it.
The secret is simple eat 3 meal a day and don't skip one. Eat close to the same time everyday. 7-8am, 12-1pm, 5:30-7pm a small snack of a few almonds and hot tea or a small piece of fruit. Keep meals around 500 calories and walk as much as possible. The morning meal starts your metabolism working and setting it for the day so that meal is very important and eat nothing after 8pm; nothing. Herbal tea or water only. Take the steps instead of the elevator, park away from a store and walk, walk, walk, the weight will fall off, you will be surprised. Stay away from sugar as much as possible. Find what works for you because if it is not something you can live with "It will not work long term," and that is the key long term to take it off, keep it off. Save your money on the over the counter diet stuff you will need it for that new wardrobe. Good Luck

Those things on TV don't really work anyways... That main thing you need is the right mindframe...realizing that you are in this for the long haul, and that the weight won't come off overnight is the first step! Working out (Power walking, jogging, jumping rope) is the very best thing you can do...also, cut down on carbs and eat lots of fruits, veggies and protein...common sense and a good frame of mind are you best bets. Eating less than 1500 calories a day and exercising should make you lose weight relatively quickly! Good luck! : )

I know everyone says this but ... exercise. Even if you just walk a few minutes a day its better than nothing. When your trying to lose weight you should probably be walking or doing some kind of exercise 3 or 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes. Even just watching your calories that you have in a day will help. I also suggest drink lots of water ... 3-4 bottles of water a day. Thats always helped me :)

Don't feel bad about not being able to buy one of those monstrosities advertised on tv. Sheesh, you'd have to have room for it in your house and, believe me, they get boring.
The best thing to do is to pick an activity that you can do easily. My favorite is just plain walking. You don't need any money, no fancy clothes or equipment, no other people are required (as in a team). All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes. Pick a time of the day that you will be able to do your activity on a regular basis. I go walking for 45 min to an hour each morning as soon as I get up. I'll grab an apple on the way out the door. I'm not even awake yet really, hehe. But the night before as I'm falling asleep I say to myself, "walk tomorrow". I do this at least every other day.
I live in an area that gets a lot of rain, so I have my clothes & rain coat set out ready the night before.
Walking is easy. Let your arms swing free, stand tall, breathe deep, and enjoy the neighborhood as you are walking. I like to see how other people do their gardens and get ideas.
When you get home, have a large cup of water.
Walking is one of the best exercises to give you a cute butt-- I'm not joking, it's true.

exercise is the best way, do it on daily basis, 1/2 hour to an hour can really help. Don't give up in the middle of the process. Never buy those weight loss drugs, most have side effects and they are not helpful. Different people react to drugs in different ways, the drug might be helpful to one person, might not be of any good to you. You don't need to buy weight loss equipments, running for 1/2 hour or an hour in the morning or evening. Save money, and spend it on something else.

Certain channels broadcast free exercise programs during the day and if you aren't home during the day, you can always rent excercise tapes.
Losing weight takes time and patience, nothing happens overnight. Nothing. Put a little effort in and try waking up two hours earlier and take a jog around the local park or lake.

weight loss pills and shakes are definetly not the way to go, dont waste your money on them, they give you barely any minumum results, i just cut down a little bit on sweets, if i go hang out with my friends and we go buy some candy, maybe i'll have a couple and she can then have the rest, you dont necessarily have to exercise, just once in a while decide to walk somewhere instead of driving (not implying that you dont), and just eat some veggies on a daily basis, a couple cucumbers/carrots here and there, nothing too big to change your diet or go majorly dieting, just a couple changes can surprisingly change a bit

determination is the key. if your decisive enough to loose weight there are other alternatives to those things advertised on tv. example would be taking the stairs if you would just be going up or down a couple of floors or you could walk to the nearby store to buy something instead of driving.

Simply change your diet and exercise. You do not need fancy equipment to do that. Walking, running, sit ups, push ups, etc. Or you can go to your local Walmart, Target, Blockbuster and buy some fitness/work out DVD's.
