No Jackson. Not only should President Bush not support gay marriage, neither should anyone else. If the gays and lezbo's want to play house, then they can just simply live together and pretend.
I do not believe it is fair to straight (normal) couples who believe in the religious sanctity of marriage to have it defaced and demoralized by the irregulars.
Furthermore, I blame the media for allowing this concept to become "acceptable" behavior. If it wasn't splattered all over our TV, cramming it down our throats in sit-com's, they would all still be in the closet.

I am currently doing research for my com 125 class on this subject and feel that we were all created equal and have the right to be who we are. I really don't care if people out there prefer a same sex relationship or same sex partner. But what I do care about is the number of gay couples out there that want to adopt but can't because they are gay. Their are sooo many children in the foster system that would kill for a chance to be apart of a loving caring home and they are denying them that chance because of what some Americans feel is not a 'normal home'. What the hell is a normal home? Those children in foster homes came from homes filled with violence and seen more hate then most, and to make matters worse those homes were a man woman relationship! Even gays who have babies by invetro still cannot have their partner adopt the child because most states define a fit adoption parent to be married, single divorced, or single but CANNOT be gay. Well if they can't get married than that rules them out of the whole thing therefor the child cannot benefit from the other the will call parent for the rest of there life. There is so much to say on this issue that it really makes me want to scream. I am totally for gay marriage and adoption.

He should support gay rights and marriage but put the squeeze on illegal immigrants.
I am straight, married female but not so sure at the +50% divorce rate we have, all the straight married people are doing such a great job anyway!
I am pretty pro Pres Bush.. all the way up until the whole immigration issue.

George W. Bush will never support marriage for homosexuals he is a Republican. Only a Democrat would do something like that. And I don't think it's really that high on our priority list anyway.

Yes he should and the reason why is extremely simple and has been put forth into many of the answers here already.
We're supposed to keep church and state SEPARATE! Plain and simple. Church is church and politics is politics...period. This is supposed to be a free country. We are ALL SUPPOSED to be treated EQUALLY! That's why people from other countries flock here and we all complain about them.
It doesn't matter what his PERSONAL or RELIGIOUS beliefs are. It's not supposed to affect the he runs the country!
Just for the record.....I'm a straight mom with two kids. I therefor have NOTHING to gain by saying any of the above. IT'S JUST THE TRUTH!

Free world?? Try living in Iran...
People should be able to do what they want?
Kewl..Open the prisons then...they only did what they wanted.
There are some rules that work.
There's "Man" & Woman"
Read just about any book, Bible, Koran, Ra, etc and they agree. It's just not in the cards.
If he's truly a Christian(and he is) it won't, nor should it happen.

Why? It goes against what he stands for. Frankly, it goes against what I believe. Both of my brothers are gay and not only do I support their decisions but I even try to hook them up with people I know. That doesn' t mean I think they should get married.

No. It runs contrary to Christian beliefs. Therefore he can't support it. It's not part of the natural way of life religion teaches.
He's more than just the president, he also has his own conscience and commitments.

YES, because it should not be based on A man and a women. It should be based on love. If you were gay and had a significant other and he or she needed an operation you would not be able to sign permission to save his life.

no it has not real support and would cost votes to the party
Given the vote it fails in every state it has ever been voted on, and fails by large numbers, so being against it, is a great political stand
