I am atheist. We actually take time to read the Bible and other books of faith and study and interpret the multiple meanings. It is quite interesting how one passage in the Bible and be interpreted in many ways and even contradict itself.
We find that most preacher teach what they want their congregation to know.
We do lack faith, however we are genuinely impressed with the influences religion has had on people, cultures, art, music, war, etc.

I'm an atheist too, but I happen to know that there is such a thing as a well-educated christian. Some people can go through college and become great academic and even scientific minds and still keep religious faith. As long as it doesn't cause them to obfuscate the truth I can live with it.

Unfortunately, Christians have an ability that most people of other faiths (or lesser known faiths) don't which is ignorance or blind faith. Unlike Christians, we have the ability to learn for ourselves, to reason, and to obtain knowledge. However, what these blind believers fail to realize is that most of their most sacred holidays were originally Pagan celebrations that the Catholic church twisted and converted into their own to get rid of the Pagan religion in mid evil times (either the peasants became catholic or were killed). For example Christmas is the Pagan holiday of Yule. And by the way men wrote the bible and it's been translated through hundreds of languages so no one really knows what the original said and they certainly couldn't know when "Jesus'" birthday was.

Christians are usually in the dark about the religion they follow. It takes a little critical reading and logic to disbelieve the things the bible professes to be true.
Obviously, with some "facts" in the bible, science has disproved them. The Christian answer to the discrepancies is usually " to doubt is a sin".
This makes people not want to question the validity of their faith.
And more money in the church basket every week.

The Atheist are more concerned bout Christ and Christians not because they have learned much rather they could not learn the truths they should have. Through learning You cannot become a Christian it is only through experience one can become Christian.

I will try not to learn too much. Thanks for the advice. What I do know is that I believe on the Lord, Jesus Christ and I will go to Heaven to live forever. We will see each other at the Judgement...I pray that you will repent so you may have eternal life. I agree wholeheartedly with LP S and Tom.
