If you love the person anything is possible. I know from dating a guy of a different race than myself that they hardest thing you'll run into is rude/inappropriate comments from others, or even from your own family. If your family is cool with it then great, if not then they need to know that the bottom line is that you love the person and that's all that matters. To the jerks you're bound to run into at some point who feel it necessary to give their two cents about interracial relationships, I feel sorry for them that they are so closed-minded and can't see past skin color. Good luck with everything, hope it works out.

I don't think that an inter-racial relationship differs all that much from any other relationships. I do think that they can last forever just as any relationship can. You need to stop and think about your differences. Are they the same obstacles that other couples go through? Are your differences truely related to race issues?

I think so. Two of my best friends are an inter-racial couple. They have one of the strongest relationships I've ever seen. They just love each other for who they are.

Yes. Everyone has differences. My neighbors are a tiny white woman, and a big african american man who look like they would never connect, however they have been together over 30 years. If you really love each other and want to be together you can make it work. Life is work. Just be kind to each other, and hold hands as you walk down the path of life....

every relationship has it's differences because people are different. An inter-racial relationship that is based on comittment...love...compromise....trust and honestly can last for as long as any other committed relationship can last.

Of course they can. Unless it's merely a relationship that is based on looks, in which case then no it won't work. But if it's a relationship based on who the person is, of course an interracial relationship can work. After all, it's not like you're in a relationship with another species. We're all human.

Yes, I have been married for 25 years to a man that is not the same color skin as myself. We have three grown children, one graduated from college and two in college.
One word of advice, live on the coasts, east or west, and live in a city. You and your family will be very accepted.

It's hard to say even for non interracial relationships. There are no guarantees. It takes work and commitment on the part of both people along with understanding and compassion.

Definitly, inter-racial relationships are the best, seems like they understand each other more.
