Yes, it's possible. Any citizen may place under arrest any person who they witness to violate any misdemeanor or felony law.

Ever heard of NaborHood Watch programs. They can NOT arrest people because they are not trained to do this and they do not have a permit. You can do a citizens arrest if you are a Bail Bonds or a fireman or a cop of some type off duty but not as a citizen.

I would not advise it at any age. You will be charged with detaining them from going on their way. You would end up in jail or worse. In this area I live in I have known of a cases where a mother tried to stop her 12 year old daughter from going out doing drugs and partying having sex and so on. She got in front of her and told her she was not going any here. the fat 12 year old grabbed her by the face and shoved her out the door and said get out of my way. Mom tackled her and would not let her leave. When the cops got there guess who went to jail. Yes it was mom for detaining someone against their will.

So don't try it. You do not have the right no matter of your age.

Idiots, you do not have to be a bail bondsman to do a citizen arrest nor to you need to have specialized training to effect a citizen's arrest. Just look at the mere definition of the term, "citizen's arrest" it is a citizen, an untrained person, with no sworn police powers, effecting an arrest, as opposed to a bail bondsman or a sworn police officer with specialized training doing it. Additionally, there are no age requirements to be a citizen, either your are on or you are not. A two year old could effect a citizens arrest if some idiot criminal was stupid enough to obey his commands and surrender himself to him.

Yes but not advised, first if you do arrest them and they are not found guilty you can be sued for false arrest maybe even false imprisonment

Next all you can do is tell them they are under arrest and to stay there till the police get there, if you touch them, you can also be charged with assualt

And the rules for citizen arrest vary from state to state

Most police departments don't recognize "citizen's arrest". If you show up at a police station or preceinct with someone you have "arrested'< at the very least, they will throw you out, and at worst, you may be arrested for illegal restraint, etc.

Actually under common law. . .NO you can not make an arrest, you are not considered competent to make such decisions. you can however make a complaint and be a witness and allow the state to make the arrest.

VERY inadvisable. You could be sued for false arrest.
