i have some questions
1-do u reccomend it?
2-does it really damage your hair?
3-about how much would it cost?
4-does it work good?
5-what happends when the roots come in? can you just straighten them with a straightner, or will that ruin ur hair?
6-how much does it cost to get the roots done?
7-will your hair be smooth shiny and straight or just straight?

any facts you have about it, or stories of ur experiances with it, or websites that are informative would be great. thanks

my hair is relaxed but i seriously needed to do it , it was too tiring for me.
1-I do reccommend it for certain people. Mostly people of african descent or with thick difficult hair to manage do it. I kno of people with wavy hair your chemically str8en it because they were tired of flat ironing it out. [east indians]
2-it does damage your hair if you do not take care of it. i.e washing it properly and steaming it and setting it regularly. but my hair and many people i kno hair is actually healthier because of it
3- im not so sure about ur state but im from the caribbean and it cost about US$30 but i think itss mroe expensive to di in the states
4- it works really well but u have to select the relaxer that is right for u. either mild , regular or strong & the brand. make sure u go to a hair dresser you trust becasue she would select the one that it is right for your hair type
5- you do it over. average is you do it over between 6-8 weeks. some people do it earlier than that. your hairdresser will tell you when its best for u. when i reach about wekk 6 my roots are coming back out i blow out my hair then flat iron it and this gets it back str8
6- if u blow it out and/or flat iron it nothing. but to str8 it over is less han the initial process.
7- it will be smooth and shiny depending on the products u put in it. my hairdresser uses a mixture of hair polish and a hair moisturiser and applies it to wet hair before she blows it out and my looks and feels AMAZING after. whenever i wash my hair i do the same thing and it comes out smooth.

if all fails u can always just grow it back out if you change your mind

ok its called japanese straightning
i have done this 3 times so i know more then the ppl that have posted already
1. yes i reccomend it only if ur hair isnt damaged already
2. it doesnt reli damage ur hair but it makes it a little dry thats why i use leave in conditioner
3. it depends where u go to get it done...if u go to a chinese place its better because its cheaper and not only that but there the ones that invented it, well the japanese did but same thing
4. yes it works very very good...i no a girl who has curly hair that u cant even brush it and she did the japanese staightning and loved it...
5. if u have reli curly hair and the roots come in i think u have a prob...i think that maybe u culd just straighten that part...or u can just get the top done by the hair dresser...i have dont it 3 times and it has not ruined my hair yet...although it smells pretty bad...it smells like something burning...and u cant wash ur hair for 3 days so thats why i do it in the summer so no one has to smell it lol...also if u get it done u can not put your hair behind your ears or tie it cause it will have dents and it will no longer be straight
6. it depends where your going...i cant tell u the price because i dont even know where u come from...just google it
7. it will be smooth shiny and straight all at the same time...

the first time i got it done i was 13 and it took 5 hours cause it was just a new product
the second time i got it done in taiwan and it was reli cheap because thats where that product came from
the third time i got it done it took a couple hours...not long at all...but it did burn my head a little and it was itchy...but i think its worth it and i wuld do it again if needed

Yuko systems are the best and will get it really straight but is very expensive $$$$ and only done in top salons. It should make your hair ultra-shiny and smooth and straight. I know 3 people who had it done and it looks amazing. You can't have it done on bleached hair. Really expensive for longer hair. Only heard of one horror story where someone was offered free conditioning treatment for life. I know that some of the other beauty brands like loreal do a softer relaxing treatment that is a quarter of the Yuko price and looks more natural - not as shiny.

no, my friend did it and it broke her hair all up. split ends everywhere. she was really mad at herself for doing it too. but i guess it depends on where you get it done and the type of hair you have.
