Hi!
If you live in the USA, the normal age working age is 16 years old. However, there are some jobs out there that will allow you to work at the age of 15 years old, with a signed work permit by your parents or legal guardian. I started working at the age of 15. So, good for you.
Besides, my parents didn't have much money to buy the things that I wanted, and my mom was like, well if you want it, you have to work for it to get it yourself. So, I asked my next door neighbors would they allow me to rake their yards. I asked about 10 neighbors, before someone said yes. Granted the pay wasn't much, but it got be started in the right direction. Plus, over time and by saving, I was able to buy the things I really wanted.
Now, with me making my own money, it freed up money that could be used on a bill, or better yet, more variety of food in the house (big grin).
Am high, and know allow 10 No's stop you from reaching your dreams. I didn't and you shouldn't either! Great question, I hope you found an answer that you can use to your advantage.

At twelve, you can take jobs like neighborhood babysitting, or doing a paper route. In most states, you have to be 15 or 16 before you can get a paying job. It's very noble of you to want to help out, so see what works for you and go for it!

Technically you can get your working papers from school and work when you're 14....but there's only certain jobs you can do and they are not good ones...especially for a girl. (Like working on a farm or having a paper route) I'm not really sure what kind of job you could get when you're 16...probably not a real good one, most employers don't want to hire people until they are at least 18.

At age 12, dear, just concentrate on being a kid. Your job responsibilities will com around age 16, which is the minimum working age in most states.

The age to start your first job is 16. I'd start with a part time job like mcdonalds or on farms.
