1. Secure your hair in a ponytail (or in some other way if a ponytail isn't an option for you.)

2. Pull the parts of the hair you'd like to lighten out of the ponytail, keeping them seperate.

3. Apply thoroughly a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice to the parts you'd like to lighten,

4.Go out in the sun for 30 minutes to 1 & 1/2 hours or until the hair is lightened to your liking. Avoid shade, getting wet or laying down, because this will mess up the consistency. If you would like different amounts of lightness, apply different amounts of the mixture or apply to different areas on different days.Check your hair after 30 minutes, and then every 15 minutes after that to see how light it is.

5. After about one hour, go inside and rinse the mixture from your hair. If you want it even lighter, repeat the process each day as needed. Do this only every other week to avoid drying your hair out and damaging it.

Hope this helps!

Note: This formula isn't magic, it won't turn black hair white-blonde or anything, but it does lighten very well.
