You have to file for an expungement--normally one year after your sentence is completed...be sure you or your attorney file for an expungement of the record and the arrest with all appropriate agencies in your state...you have to have a clean record from the date of the offense to the time of filing.

That is usually done in court under a plea bargain. If the charge was reduced it will never show up on a criminal record!
The police will always have the record that you were arreste for a felony!
Depends on who is asking. The FBI probably have access!
So does Bush!

Unless you get an Order which expunges the record from the convicting Court , it will always be on your record and will always show up in a thorough background check.

That depends on who is doing the background check. If you're applying for a government position, especially one requiring a security clearance, you are pretty much out of luck.

In the US, all arrests and all convictions show up forever, unless you have them explunged. ( and then they still show up for police to see) If a plea changed a felony to a misdemeanor, it will show up but as a misdemeanor

It really depends on the state you live in. Most it stays on record unless you have it sealed which costs. Go to your county court house, records dept. and ask, I would not try calling as most court houses they are not to prone to giving great info. or you might be able to find out on line. They all usually have an internet site. It all depends where you live or where you had the problem.
