I really want to go to school, and get a j-o-b. I went to a career school for medical assisting and its like 13000. I barely was approved for 2700 through FAFSA. What else can I do?

You could take out student loans. I just graduted from college and will be paying them back soon. Yes, it's a lot of money to pay back but it's well worth it.

I've got an answer, but it's somewhat incredible, but it's true, and it payed for all my education in a trade school. I went to the school finance department or whatever they called it and applied for a student LOAN. They told me there was no more grant money. I said, "Good. I am applying for a loan." So they gave me an application for a student loan as I had requested. I completed it and handed it back in. Again they told me they had no more money for grants. Again, I said, "Good. I'm applying for a loan." So they took my completed form and we all said thank you and I went on my way knowing that I'd hear from them one day. And, sure enough, one day I got a letter from them apologizing for the fact they had no more grant money. I wrote them back and, once again, said, "Good. I was applying for a loan." A while later I got another letter from them saying that they had no money for a grant and that I was not qualified for a grant. They told me to go on and register for school and something would be worked out for a loan if I wanted it. Duhhhh. Somewhere in the middle of the semester I got a communication that they had no grant money. I walked over to their office and once again reminded them I had been applying for a loan. Okay. Well, the semester went on, I took the finals and passed. About a week later I received in the mail a letter noting the amount of money that was given to me VIA A GRANT. And that's the last time I ever was at that school. Why am I telling you this. It's simple. People running universities and colleges and trade schools aren't as intelligent as you might think. I wouldn't approach going to college with the hope of a repeat like that above, but then, hold on to your hat because ANYTHING can happen. The people behind the counter aren't as bright as one might expect. God Bless you.

Get a job, live on an austerity budget for a year, then re-apply for financial aid and go to school then. Of go to shool part time while you work FT. You can also join the military. They will train you and pay you and then you have the GI Bill when you get out. You can go to college on Uncle Sam then, after you have earned it.
