I have noticed this with discussion groups as well....why the nastiness and rudeness? Its so unecessary.

because there are those who feel that by answering a question with a smart rude remark that they will prove some point. Normally they are trying to show off in front of other's and cannot gain attention so they use this format where they can be heard and not ignored as they normally are in public.

Probably because they don't know the answer or are offended by the question. I have found that some people who think they are asking intelligent sexual questions, really aren't. I just answered a question by someone who totally bashed senior citizens. Have to go back to it then will post it here.
Why do old people always wear either grey or brown cardigans?
The question was so rude it has been removed already. The rest of the question was about why they are so selfish, miserable, lazy, smell of urine, and something about those trollies they drag behind them.
I totally gave this person a piece of my mind that he would be so ignorant about older people.
The internet is not just full of teenage boys, but there are a lot of teenage girls, adults, perverts, sexual predators, etc. on here so you never know what you are going to here. I gave someone an honest answer in the Homework section and was then constantly berated by one other person who just wouldn't stop insulting me. Even the question asker got rude with me.
Many people on here do NOT read the community guidelines and just say what they want it seems. If someone is offending you or being rude, just report them.

Of course, when writing people aren't able to fully express just what they mean. It's different from saying DUDE! and DUDE! Because for all we know you could just be screaming it, but in reality, you could just be joking around. The question may be serious but how people go about them is what makes people kind of ticked off. I just recently answered a question rude myself, but the way that the guy asked the questioned was also very rude, personally, for me because I'm African-American. (It was another one of those racist-stereotypical questions)

That's simply how people are, especially now a days! And its getting worse. Human beings as a whole are the single worst thing on this planet, inherently flawed by design and like a cancer, they destroy themselves each other and everything they come in contact with! Many of them just being rude???? Yeah it isn't needed but THAT isn't what you or any of us SHOULD be concerned about!!!

Most posts on the internet are more or less anonymous so they feel that they can get away with it.
In contrast, I post on Smart Computing's Q&A Board. They police the board and anyone who is rude or otherwise out of line is banned from the board.

It just a reminder once again that not all people are nice and polite, in a community like this you will encounter many different types of people.
Not only the answers but you can notice from some of the questions.

because some people are only there to knock others down. they feel they are being witty and really ,... in all honesty dont realize how ignorant they are. its sad that you have to post "serious question" to get honest answers. and i dont think its only boys... ive seen some nasty comments from the woman side as well.

And also because when u post a legitimate question, you are most of the time favoring a side, and all that favore the other side will naturaly go against you, because you are mediling in their beliefs.... does not mean they are right to though.

Because they lack the intelligence to actually answer the question. Most of the people on here are just participating because they are bored. I like to imply my knowledge and help people answer their questions. Also, most of the people on here are under the age of 16..

Who knows maybe there spouse didn't give them any booty that day. Could of had a bad day at work. To shy to be rude to a persons face. It could make them feel better about themselves.
