Well, dogs do typically have to go first thing in the morning. They don't seem to have the ability to sleep in like we do, because they hear much better than humans. If your dog gets a lot of activity during the day it will have to go more often, but typically 3-4 times a day should be enough. I take my dog out first thing in the morning, when I get home from work, and right before bed, and she seems to like it fine. She'll let me know if she REALLY has to go any other time.

You have to start putting your dog on a schedule, otherwise they won't learn bladder control. Since he's already in the habit of going at 7:30am, you might have to gear up for a few accidents in the morning. But don't get up to let him out. With a stern voice, tell him to lay down or hush, or whatever tone/saying you use when you scold him. After a week or two, he should be trained to whatever time you want him to be trained to wait in the morning. Good Luck!

Since you have to use the bathroom before going to sleep and again upon waking up - I would imagine the same is true of your dog. He will also need to go out right after eating, drinking water, and if you've been gone, leaving him alone during the day as well.
It's irritating to you but imagine how it would feel to have to wait until someone else decided if you could go to the bathroom or now, when you had to go......
Please don't ignore him until his bladder bursts or he has other physical problems fro holding it too long.

I've had my puppy now for about 1.5 weeks and I usually take him out when I wake up in the morning (about 6am), before I leave (about 6:50 - He has usually eaten by this time), when I get home from work (about 3pm - sometimes my boyfriend gets home earlier and takes him out when he does), before I go to bed, and usually about 15-20 minutes after he eats. For the past couple of nights, he has awakened me at about 4am to let me know that he needs to go. Yeah, it's frustrating, but once you start to feed him on schedule and stick to a routine, he begin to conform to your schedule, making it a little easier for you.

there is no set number, It depends on if it is a small dog versus a big dog, and how much they eat or drink a day. They are definitely ready in the morning, cause they have not gone all night. That is part of being a dog owner. good luck

Out to the bathroom? You have a bathroom outside? If your dog knows how to use the bathroom outside, just teach him to use the one inside instead.

my dog scratches my back door every morning to be let out (sometimes very early) Taking him on walks everyday at the same time and encouraging him to go during that time helps. pretty soon he will be doing his business everyday at that certain time

put a dog door in your home, and a fenced in yard, teach the dog to go out the dog door, this way you will not HAVE to get up to let the dog out, and wont be irratated from it. if its a young dog, every few hours til he gets old enough to understand, that YOU are not home to let him out. DONT MAKE YOUR DOG HOLD ITSELF, THIS WILL CAUSE THE KIDNEYS TO SHUT DOWN, WHICH WILL NO LONGER WORK,THEN YOU'LL HAVE A BIG VET BILL DUE TO YOU WERE IRRATATED.
