if a guy told looked at u & smile, then hugs u and says "u smell good" i know its a compliment, but could it be a flirt too? (both)

Yes, it would generally be considered a flirt. However, flirting doesn't automatically equal potential romantic interest...some people are just flirts...they'll flirt with anyone, it's second nature, and they don't give it much thought...don't take what happend TOO seriously, but if further flirting occurs, or other signs, ya might be on to something...

Complimenting is an act of expressing admire and admiration, etc. Flirting is an act of behaving carefully to arouse sexual thoughts or advances without emotional commiement. Flirting isn't comparable to complimenting; as flirting is meant for inner maximum advantages and has ulterior motives.

he was probably flirting with you...(give the hug and him saying that) but please don't think everyone that tells you, you smell good is flirting with you...
