I gotta say that no, NASCAR is not as All American as Baseball.

2 Main reasons:

1. Nascar has only been around since 1949. Baseball has been played since the1800's in some form or another.

2. Until the last decade or so, NASCAR has been enjoyed by a much smaller percentage of the population. Baseball is enjoyed by basically by all races and nationalities. NASCAR had a much more limited following.

In the future, maybe it will be as All AMerican. Italy is known for their cars, maybe we'll be known for NASCAR.

If baseball is as all-american as apple pie, then maybe Nascar is as all-american as...those little hot apple pies you get at McDonalds? Still very American, but a little less satisfying and meaningful, and a lot more commercially driven, it seems to me. Or at least more obviously so.

I can't think of any other countries that do NASCAR as fanatically as us Americans do, and then again I don't know any other good baseball playing countries, so yeah, you're right. No other countries devote so much money and time to the stadiums and the races and the games and stuff, so yes it's definitely American!

long Hasn't been around enough! Baseball had the title first! Besides, people can go their whole lives and NEVER see a NASCAR race, but you'll find very few if any who haven't witnessed a baseball game.

NASCAR is not as American as apple pie. I would liken it more to "as Redneck as peanuts in a bottle of Mountain Dew."

NASCAR is as American as a big tractor tire in the front yards at the trailer park.

NASCAR is as American as moonshine.....that is it's roots, and that is why it is as American as Apple pie. For all of you NASCAR haters, they have other channels.
