I absolutely LOVE my Yorkie. He has so much energy, he loves to play, he is incredibly affectionate and sweet, and is friendly towards everyone. There is one health issue, however, that is common among them and that is cataracts. But then again, what breeds don't have their health problems? I would definitely, hands-down recommend you get a Yorkie IF you will be able to give him/her lots of attention and love. If you don't have the time or the energy, then I suggest you get another more mellow and less active dog because Yorkies need a lot of activity and attention. I guarantee you will love your Yorkie if the one you get has a personality like mine. I purchased mine for a little over $1,800, but then again he is a pure-bred toy Yorkie with a pedigree and everything. Good luck and have fun with your new Yorkie if you choose to get one! :)
Oh, by the way! Don't be fooled by offers of a "teacup" Yorkie. They don't naturally exist, and it's a scam.

I had a yorkie and raised a litter of yorkie pups .Yes they can be yappy health problems usually are genetic. You need to do research on the parents of the pup you are looking at, also you want them to give you a health guarentee. Some of your better breeders will give you a genetic guarantee which will be for the life span of the dog , in which they would replace if something come up with the one you buy from them. If you get a male you are looking at approx. 600-800.00, for a female approx. 1000-1500,maybe more. that is for good small breeds

Yorkies are absolutely great pets. They are very loyal. I have a male Yorkie named Juicy and on Saturday I will be getting my second one. She is going to be named Tootsie. Yorkies are expensive, but well worth it. Juicy cost 2,000 US dollars. Tootsie the same as well. Yorkies are a little yappy at times, but you can get used to it. Some Yorkies have health problems, but that all depends on how they were bred and the health of their parents. I hope this helps.

Yorkies are very cute little dogs, but they can have a lot of health problems- collapsing trachea, seizures are the most common. They are yappy little creatures and they are terriers- so do your research first to make sure that a terrier is righ for you!

Full blooded Yorkies with papers can be very expensive! They are prone to epileptic seizures also. And, yes, they are yappy!
