When I am typing or just on the Internet my computer for no reason goes into a shut down and the monitor goes to sleep. When I click on the mouse It starts up again to the same page I was on before it went into a shut down

I did what you all said and the settings were at "never". The only thing I can think of is it has been happening since last week after I uploaded Norton Anti virus protection because of pop ups bugging the h.... out of me. I dont get any pop -ups but now the computer is mad at me for blocking pop ups

You can try several online virus scanners. Trend Micro has a good one. Does Norton report a virus? The easiest and best way to make sure that you don't have a virus would be to backup all of your personal files and then reinstall windows completely. Then if it still shuts down at random then it has to be a hardware issue. Starting 2000 in safe mode might help you in deleting any files. (Hit F8 while the computer is booting up and then select "Safe Mode" when a list appears)

Right clk a blank spot on your desktop. Select Properties, then Screensaver tab, then clk on Power.
Look at the settings and change them to never turn off or what you think is right for your computing needs.

Right Click on the desktop and goto "properties" goto display and then "screensaver" goto "power " and check what your power options are on. sounds like your settings are prob set low like 1 min for monitor shutoff. Hope that helps
