Bob is already saved.
Bob is in "kindergarden" in terms of Bible schooling.
Bob might try to worm his way out of this calling, but he does not think he can decline.
What do we tell Bob if he asks for our advice?

As a Pastor myself, Bob should consult with other Pastors about becoming a Pastor and/or look into schooling to become a Pastor. That have many Christian colleges that offer good programs into becoming one.

Here is some stuff to help you get started.

Read:

The Bible and read it often. Immerse yourself in God's word. Two good Bibles to use are, Maxwell Leadership Bible (New King James Version) with notes by Dr. John C. Maxwell & The Devotional Bible (New Century Version) with notes by general editor and pastor, Max Lucado.

The Bible Answer Book by Hank Hanegraaff. This book offers many answers to questions people seek.

A Case For Christ by Lee Strobel. read how an former atheist and lawyer makes a strong fact base case for Christ.

The Complete Bible Handbook: An Illustrated Companion by John Bowker - Offers many pictures, diagrams, historical events, cultural backgrounds, archaeological evidence and maps of the Holy Land.

The Complete Idiot's Guide To The Bible by James Stuart Bell & Stan Campbell - Simple enough, but it may surprise you.

I would tell 'Bob' that it is time for Him to make a home-made TV. The rest should unfold like so much folded under-garments.
You could start watching televangelists and taking notes on the things that they say come from the Bible. Go to many churches and take notes. You could just wing it and talk about things that sound liike they could come from the Bible, but this is more legit. You could try to gather a following by getting some public license and preach to people on busy downtown streets. Spread the message, talk with the people, refine and develop your delivery style. Make some money and freinds too.

way to go Bob, that is a really high calling. My fiance has the same calling and I think it is so cool. I would recommend he talk to a pastor at his church. Then he can look into some bible colleges in his area. May God stay with him in your journey.

We tell Bob to enroll in Bible school, or if not that to at least start reading a good study Bible himself, and reading some good commentaries. He has to know the Scriptures himself before he can teach them to anybody else.
